Question?
What does one wear to give birth?
The correct answer is NOT hospital gown. I’m not trying to look stylish - I am just particularly averse to wearing a hospital gown.

Baby Shower: The Surprise
It was my Baby Shower today. BEST DAY EVER. I think I may have mentioned that this is the first Baby Shower I’ve ever attended. It’s not really a typical tradition in Australia. But it should be!!
I wasn’t allowed into the apartment until everyone had arrived. When I looked around I got the shock of my life.
I had a surprise guest in the form of John’s Mum! I...

This is John and me with his Mum otherwise known as...

Baby Shower: The-game-that's-not-a-game
I was apprehensive about playing games at the Baby Shower but Jen knows me far better than that and instead arranged for everyone to design and paint bibs for Baby Girl. GENIUS IDEA!
It took me about 2 seconds to come up with my ‘design’.
My friends are both funny and creative. Check these out…
And a few more….

Daily Outfits - Baby Shower
I bought a new dress for my Baby Shower. Obviously. I bought this online for the bargain price of $57 reduced from $150. I bought the tights in Tesco when I was living in the UK. And the shoes are Enzo Angiolini.
I wasn’t sure if the dress was a bit mumsy. But I decided I really liked it once I had the tights and shoes on.

Baby Girl's furniture
This is the crib we are putting in the nursery. Simple, modern, inexpensive.
And the chest of drawers / change table.
Both from Target.

Favorite comment award goes to Random Blog Reader (Not John) who commented yesterday:
That John guy is really terrific. You are so lucky to have him. I think you should devote at least one night a week to giving him back massages, bringing him drinks and generally showering him with attention!

Home Exchanges
You’ve heard me mention home exchanges multiple times on my blog. We first got the idea from our neighbors Jess and Trevor who did a successful home exchange in Rome in 2008. They used a website called HomeExchange.com™ - the very same one featured in the movie The Holiday. We had a poke around the website and decided to give it a whirl.
You can send messages to listings that you are...

Home Exchange: Potential
This is one of the places we have contacted regarding an exchange this Summer. It is jaw-droppingly amazing both inside and out.
Just look at this place. They have a tower!
And a sun-drenched terrace overlooking a swimming pool - it should be a movie set.
And there is a bedroom at the top of the tower. Now this is a room with a view. This really seems too good to be true. I’m not...

Baby Girl Update
John is in Atlanta (or is it Phoenix?) on business so I sent him an email this morning with a Baby Girl update. I thought I would share it with you. This is the kind of stuff that makes my mouth drop open because it’s unexpected. I know babies move around but not quite like this…
Baby Girl did some MAJOR gymnastics this morning as I lay in bed. Thought she was going to poke a hole...

My Top 4 Maternity Buys
I think it’s really hard to know what to splurge on and what not to splurge on when it comes to maternity clothes so I thought I would share some of my best buys with you.
1. Jules & Jim Prada Pants
I have been wearing these pants 2 - 3 times per week since I was 16 weeks pregnant and could no longer get into my pre-pregnancy work pants. They were the first maternity item I...

John: Yes, I love the Happy Bunnies!
Me: I think they are called the Bad Rabbits.

Guess only some of us will know the fantastical, mysterious ending to this...
– Berry is shaming the 80% of us that have not read our Book Club book. Yeah, we tried resurrecting Book Club. It’s not going so well. The reading part anyway. The turning up for brunch and gossiping about anything but the book is going REALLY well.
Nursery Paint - Take 2
On Monday John re-painted the nursery. When I arrived home from work he slammed the nursery door shut and pretended that it turned out really badly. But oh, I LOVE it! I will post a couple of photos below but I don’t think they truly capture the color.
So to give you an idea of the change I grabbed the screenprint below from Benjamin Moore. Originally we had painted the Newborn Pink....
