Alice's Tea Cup
After reading about the best high tea in NYC on Mommy Poppins I have been dying to go and have some tea, sandwiches and scones. We headed up to meet Jen at Alice’s Tea Cup on the UWS.
Although a high chair was provided Charlotte preferred to hang out on the seat next to us. She entertained herself by pulling everything out of my handbag and then throwing her gloves up into the air.

Horse & Carriage
Yesterday Mum and I played tourist with Charlotte. First we headed over to St Patricks Cathedral, followed by lunch and then a stroll up to Central Park. I have never been in a horse and carriage before so we decided to hop in and take in the sights of a very snowy Central Park.
Verdict: Not worth the money. Don’t be lazy - get out and walk!

Family Photo - Christmas Day
I wanted to get a nice family photo on Christmas Day. Not too much to ask, right? Well, have you ever tried doing that with a dog and a baby?
First, the baby closed her eyes.
Then she started laughing at the dog.
Then the dog looked away.
Then the baby looked away.
Then they both looked away.
And then I gave up and just took photos of Charlotte.

Christmas Day Hockey
What do Canadians do on Christmas Day? Play hockey in the backyard rink, of course. First we had to figure out if I was a leftie or a rightie. I thought there would be some kind of long process to figure it out but it was as simple as shoving a stick in my hand and seeing what I would do with it.

Charlotte's Baptism
On Christmas Eve, Charlotte Rose was baptised. I was originally going to dress her in an old-fashioned long dress with a bonnet but after searching online I found this short dress and pair it with a flower headband instead. I thought she looked so cute.
The ceremony was held in the private chapel of a priest who is a friend of the family. It was in a beautiful old house with high ceilings.

Weekend in Toronto
We flew up to Toronto on Friday afternoon and had ourselves a fun little weekend. When I get home on a Thursday evening I sink into my sofa with the knowledge that I have 3 whole days ahead of me to spend with my family. I am so fortunate to have the ability to work four days a week and still maintain a great career. It makes a huge difference in the quality of my life. So thank you very much, employer-that-will-not-be-named, for being so supportive of working mothers.

I’m a sucker for cute baby hats. I stumbled across Tippy Toppers and nearly died of cuteness overload.
I love them so much I ordered two for Charlotte.
Santaland
We headed down to Macys on Saturday morning and arrived to find out there was a 1.5 hour wait to see Santa. No worries - we understand he’s a busy guy and there’s only one Santa after all (except at Macys where there are at least 10 Santas).
Santaland was AMAZING!!!!
