Memorial Day Weekend - Central Park
The weather was glorious this weekend so I insisted on a walk through Central Park on Sunday.  We ran into (literally, we had a stroller collision) with the friends we had brunch with on Saturday so we all strolled together and then had a sit down in the shade. This is the first time we’ve had a family photo since the day Charlotte was born almost 2 months ago.  And Winston wasn’t...

Babies Babies Babies
Last November we went sailing in the BVI with another three couples. Out of the four couples, three were pregnant at the time. Couple 1 had their baby girl in March. Couple 2 (us) had our baby girl in April. And Couple 3 had their baby girl on Saturday! Couple 4 - no pressure Emily and Simon but your first-born MUST also be a girl!! Couple 1 were in New York for the weekend so we met up...

Night time feeding
When people ask me how many times I get up to feed Charlotte in the middle of the night, my answer is twice per night because as far as I’m concerned 6am is the middle of the night.

Open casting call to pregnant bellies!
I was recently contacted by Blog2Print (a website that allows bloggers to transform their blogs into printed books) about a casting call they are having online and in NYC on June 17th.  They are looking for two ‘spokesbellies’ to show of their amazing bumps and be featured in the company’s first ever print advertising campaign. I thought this sounded like a lot of fun so wanted...

The Last Supper
Last night we went out for the Last Supper with our friends Marc and Katy.  Marc is John’s BFF here in the city.  He used to be Berry’s room-mate which is how we met him.  Shortly after moving to New York, Marc met the lovely Katy and the two of them have been part of my New York landscape since the beginning.  Now that landscape is changing and I am sad.  They are off to live in South...

Teutonia
I really love my stroller.  I think I’ve talked about my love for my stroller before.  We had a hard time choosing between the Bugaboo and the Stokke and then thanks to a massive sale we ended up with the Teutonia.  I’m convinced it’s the best stroller on the market. And yet I’ve never heard of anyone else having a Teutonia.  I’ve never even seen another in the city....

I Can't Live Without.....
The Fisher Price Little Lamb Cradle Swing This thing is AMAZING and should be on your must buy list.  We originally bought the Fisher Price Bouncer because it took up less room.  But the cradle swing is definitely worth the extra expense and the additional space that it needs. Charlotte loves this thing.  You can have it swing side to side or front to back.  The little lambs at the top spin...

An afternoon in Central Park
After our pediatrician appointment yesterday, we walked directly to Central Park entering at the 80s on the west side.  I proceeded to lose myself (happily) in the The Ramble.  I never go this high up into Central Park and I had no idea how gorgeous it is.   At one point I came to a fork in the path.  I looked down the two paths ahead of me, then turned around and looked at the path I had just...

Marvel at how I somehow produced the most beautiful baby on the face of the planet (and convince myself that no, of course I am not biased when I make this judgment!) Poke at my belly and wonder ‘will this ever look the same as before?’ Make silly faces to get a smile out of Charlotte and then internally high five myself when I am successful (there is nothing better in the world...

Dogs and their toys
About a year ago John bought Winston an American Airlines toy on his way home from Vegas.  It has been a firm favorite of Winston’s.  It was starting to look ratty and the airplane noise it makes was starting to die so I went online and bought a new one for a whopping $26.  What can I say?  He’s still my baby.  Plus he gets ignored a lot these days so perhaps it is a guilt present! ...

The end of my breastfeeding story
I spent a lot of time, energy and money increasing my milk supply during the first 2 weeks of Charlotte’s life.  It was a distressful period - I felt like a complete failure and worried about how I was going to feed my baby. But I did it.  With perseverance I brought my milk supply up to an acceptable level.  Unfortunately, by then my daughter was disinterested in getting the milk directly...

Aerosoles
A couple of months ago I bought a pair of $200 Michael Kors wedges.  They are gorgeous but I can’t walk more than a few steps in them.  The pain!  I was loathe to buy another pair of $100+ pair of wedges so when I walked past Aerosoles recently I decided to go in and have a look around. As I expected, the vast majority of the shoes are beyond ugly.  But I did find a pair of wedges that are...

Sunday Funday
Yesterday was another jam-packed day in NYC.  This weekend was the Hells Kitchen International Food Festival along Ninth Avenue.  We headed out relatively early (11am) to beat the crowds and between the two of us we ate a brownie, pad thai, lemonade, chicken curry, chocolate souffle cupcake, mini slider, and a crepe. John took charge of both Winston and the stroller (see below) leaving me free to...
