Charlotte and her weird sleeping positions
She starts off the night with her head at one end….(photo taken last night)
And ends up with her head down the other end……(photo taken this morning)
The first time this happened I assumed that John was trying to play a trick on me, that he had moved her during the night. He denied it but I didn’t believe him. (He likes to play tricks on me). It happened again, and...

Mini Charlotte update
I’m still working on Cha-Cha to improve the length of tummy time. My latest attempt involves using the Boppy to prop her up a bit.
This time she twisted her head around to watch Wimbledon. She loves that telly.
Charlotte is getting big. Like, really big. Check her out in my arms below. I swear she was half this size when I had her 3 months ago!
And finally, here is a photo of...

White House Greeting
Charlotte received mail from the White House last week.
President and First Lady Obama have officially welcomed Charlotte Rose to the world.
Fighting over the baby
Me: Who wants to feed the baby?
Berry: I DO!
Jen: I DO!
Berry: Paper, scissors, rock?
Saturday Brunch
Until I started taking Winston to the dog park I rarely went west of 9th Avenue. I have now walked past Le Bergamote (52nd between 10th and 11th) many times on my way to the dog park and on Saturday morning John suggested we have brunch there.
The weather was beyond gorgeous so we happily sat outside. albeit in the shade of an umbrella. Bonus points for having plenty of room for our SUV of a...

Tuesday, revisited
I spent a lot of time right here. A book downloaded onto John’s iPad. A cup of tea for me. A bottle of milk for Charlotte.
The monkey fell asleep all smushed up on me.
It started raining mid-afternoon. The sound was soothing. The view was soothing.
Charlotte met her Uncle Puddy for the first time.
We are probably heading back to New York today. Sad face.

Personalized Baby Blanket - READER GIVEAWAY
When Charlotte was first born I had an email from Stephanie at Fill In The Blankie asking if I would be interested in reviewing one of their personalized blankets. Two months later I finally got around to responding and saying that I would love to!
Unlike a lot of personalized blankets you can have text on all four sides of the blanket. Their website is very user friendly. If you...
Charlotte's first weekend in Canada
Charlotte happily passed out on Auntie Alma.
The dog waiting impatiently for someone to go play fetch. Winston loves being at the cottage. Grass to run on, wide open spaces to play fetch, water to swim in, boats to ride in, and a nice big house to run wild in.
Hanging out with Auntie Kristin and cousin Grace.
Hanging with her Mum.
Just so you know, it’s going to be REALLY blonde.
– The hairdresser is scaring me. I don’t need to be Playboy Bunny blonde.

thejbuzz asked: Do you and John ever call Charlotte by her intended nickname, Charlie? Just curious since I don't think you ever call her Charlie on the blog. ;)
A Day with a BFF
I had the BEST DAY EVER on Sunday. One of my closest friends flew into New York from Sydney (via a business trip in Hong Kong) on Saturday afternoon for a crazy week of business meetings in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Whew - my head is spinning trying to figure out how Sonia’s team will fit all of that in!
Luckily she had time to spend the whole day with us....
Baby-free Monday afternoons
We’ve started having someone come in to look after Charlotte for four hours every Monday afternoon. I call it my GSD (get sh*t done) afternoon. It’s for things like doctor appointments, hairdresser appointments, DMV visits, etc.
Quite honestly, I was dreading it all morning. I didn’t have anything that needed to be done today and I hate being away from Charlotte...

Handprint Growth Chart - READER GIVEAWAY
When I grew up we had a doorframe in which we would measure my height with little pencil marks. I was thinking about how much I wanted to do this with Charlotte but realized we are unlikely to live in the same place throughout Charlotte’s childhood. The solution? A Handprint Growth Chart from pearhead.com.
Not only can we mark what Charlotte’s height is but we can also add...

losingweightinthecity asked: So! Since your fabulous home country (which makes some beautiful men, I might add) is playing in the World Cup today, where would you recommend one watch the game in NYC where said beautiful men might be? :)
elizabethanne asked: So this weekend I was frolicking about the city with my Mom and saw a blonde woman on a green vespa and I said out loud "I think I know her!" I have no idea if you were zooming about the city on the vespa this weekend but my mom's facial expression was priceless when I was trying to explain how I might know the woman on the vespa.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
When I had lunch with Mary in NYC last month I asked her for a recommendation for a tinted moisturizer. I was looking for something a bit lighter than my normal Laura Mercier foundation to wear for the warmer months. At that time my intention was to try the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer because I had become quite loyal to the brand.
However, Mary told me to try out the Jouer Luminizing...
Girls Night Out
On Tuesday I left Charlotte with John and had my first proper girls night out. First, I met up with Jen, Kate and Ave at a cool little bar called Jadis on the Lower East Side (thank god for foursquare or I would have no hope of remembering the names of places I have been to). It was the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink as it wasn’t too noisey allowing us to relax on the leather sofas...
