Selling New York
John and I watch a ridiculous amount of house hunting TV shows on HGTV. I’ve always loved watching these types of shows but being in the midst of our own real estate search makes it even more interesting to me. My absolute favorite is Selling New York. Who doesn’t love having a sticky beak into multi-million dollar apartments?
John texted me yesterday to inform me that Selling New...
Catching up with 'home'
It’s been 7.5 years since I left Australia to live abroad. I’ve been gone a long time but thanks to the wonders of Facebook, blogs and Twitter I’m able to keep up with childhood friends. And once in a while someone from Sydney pops up in New York. Last weekend I caught up with Kathryn who was visiting from Sydney with her son and husband.
It would appear that boys are...
The Stanley Cup
Do you know what the Stanley Cup is? (If you are Canadian you are nodding your head vigorously right about now.) It is the trophy awarded to the annual National Hockey League champions. It’s kind of an interesting trophy in that they don’t just make a new one each year. Instead the winning team gets to hang onto it until the next champion is declared. The names of all the players,...

Friday
Today is Friday. The day off from the job that pays me money. Unfortunately Fridays are not for lazing around the house reading books and watching Oprah. [OK, so maybe a tiny bit of that happens when Charlotte takes a nap]. Instead, Fridays are for my other job. The unpaid job of being a stay-at-home Mom. My favorite job.
So part of my ‘job’ today is to figure out when exactly...

– “Bittersweet” by Shauna Niequist (via julie911)
I love this sentiment of having a home team. As I read it I was reminded of one of my home team members, Jen who knows exactly where to find our (hidden) collection of wine and more importantly where the champagne glasses are stashed (in fact, I...

caseyculture:
Being an adorable Ruby Cavalier King Charles is tough. It’s even harder when you have a sweet partner in crime.
You both wake up in a comfy bed, holding paws and giving kisses.
After a walk where everyone stops to “ooh and aaah”, you soak up the sun with a nice nap.
Then its time to…
Looks like Winston had a great weekend with Lady! Major thanks to Casey for...

Cousins
We flew up to Toronto on Friday afternoon to attend the wake and funeral of John’s grandfather. While the reason for our quick Canadian jaunt was a sad one, it was lovely to catch up with family that we don’t see all that often. Most importantly Charlotte got to hang out with her three cousins.
Well, I guess we should turn on the TV and find out who is at war and what...
