Books, books, and more books
I have read so many good books lately. Some of these came to me on recommendation so I feel obligated to share the wealth and pass on the recommendations.
1. The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas
This is an Australian novel and when I read the reviews on Goodreads I couldn’t help but note that people either LOVE this book or HATE it. I fell very firmly into the LOVE camp but I can see why some...
The law of diminishing returns does not apply to love.
– I loved reading this line in an email from my friend, Emily. She’s a smart cookie.

Thursday Playdate
I am working from home today so I snapped a few pics of Charlotte as she headed out the door with her nanny for a playdate. I finally found some hairclips that stay put in her hair.
I think Charlotte’s nanny did a great job of dressing her today - the perfect example of a high-low outfit with a Ralph Lauren coat combined with a Target dress!

Floaty thing
We popped into a Super-Target while we were in Florida and John bought the cutest floaty ever.
Related: I’m a wee bit obsessed with shielding Charlotte from the sun so the fact that the floaty thing had a flower appendage that acted as a shade scored bonus points in my book.
I think she really liked it.
A new house, maybe
We have been searching for a new house all year. We pretty much hated everything we saw.
Until Saturday.
We finally found a house that we love and want to buy. And then an hour later we found another house that we love and want to buy.

I have a few blog posts to write about the last few days of our vacation but in the meantime I will leave you with my squooshy-face.
It’s her Pebbles Flintstone look.

Charlotte
Charlotte doesn’t have a lot of hair but what she does have, hangs directly in her eyes. When we arrived in Florida yesterday, one of our first stops was Buy Buy Baby. I picked up some baby barrettes that managed to stay put in her hair for more than 30 seconds today.

Winston the Cat
Winston thinks he is a cat perching on the edge of the chair. Why is he doing this?
To get as close to the little person who feeds him human food.
Disaster
We made it almost a full year without a big baby mess. And then on Friday…..
Charlotte managed to grab hold of her full bowl of cereal and flung it over her shoulder. It hit the wall, the lamp, the sofa, the magazine rack, the power cable and the rug. It was a delight to clean up.
And when she did it, she looked up at me, shrugged her shoulders and said ‘eh’. I...

Let's get physical, physical
Charlotte’s hair is constantly in her eyes. This was my solution today.
It immediately reminded me of Olivia Newton John in Let’s Get Physical.
