This morning we headed up to wine country for the day (and night) with our two friends J&L. I had certainly heard of Napa and Sonoma but we bypassed both of those and headed up to Healdsburg and the area surrounding it.
I have been wine tasting in Australia, New Zealand and Canada so thought I knew what to expect but I must admit I was somewhat blown away by how beautiful and fancy the vineyards and tasting rooms are here. We went to a couple of vineyards outside of Healdsburg and then headed into town for lunch and more tastings.
We had lunch at Oakville Grocery and not one word was spoken as we ate because the food was so good. The town of Healdsburg is extremely pretty and I really enjoyed walking through it. It took some time to do because Winston proved to be very popular with the locals and tourists who all wanted to stop and say hi. I’m thinking there must be some money in this dog.
All in all, a great day. And we still have a great dinner coming up this evening at Dry Creek Kitchen. Yay, lucky us!
