After reading recommendations for Bianca, an Italian restaurant in NoHo, on both Casey’s blog and HeyLaney’s blog I decided it was time I went to check it out myself. We headed down on our Vespas. So, a word on my Vespa riding.
I happen to live in the only state in the entire country that requires a motorcycle license to ride a scooter. Annoying much? I currently have my learner license which means I need to be within 2 or 3 miles of a fully licensed rider. Now, let me tell you. If you ever want to learn to ride a scooter I would recommend picking a city other than New York to learn in. It’s hard to learn when you spend the entire time driving defensively. I quickly learned how to sound the horn. Each time I get on I am nervous. But within 10 minutes I gain confidence and then I don’t want to get off. IT. IS. SO. MUCH. FUN. I would really like to get my full license in the next 6 weeks but I need a lot more practice to do the figure eights that are required in order to pass the test.
Tonight I got the thumbs up from a couple of cops who pulled up next to me at the lights. It made me smile.
