July 4th

This was my third Independence Day but my first actually watching the fireworks.  We went out for dinner at 8pm and Hell’s Kitchen was buzzing with people heading over to the west side to watch the fireworks (first time the fireworks were over the Hudson since 2001).  We high tailed it back home because our lovely friends/neighbors had invited us upstairs to their roof-deck.  The view was fantastic!!

It felt so much like New Year’s Eve in Sydney for me.  The warm weather, the party atmosphere and the fireworks.  

All in all, a great night.  Now I have to rouse myself for brunch with my girls :-)
