With regards to my last post about dress length and reading Julie’s post on the subject, I was reminded of my own school uniform dress lengths.  I went to two very strict high schools.  The first one was all girls and I attended from Year 7 to Year 10.  The nuns/teachers would do uniform checks by making us kneel down and if the hem didn’t touch the floor, watch out!  So I did what any girl with a penchant for short skirts would do.  I wore a belt under my jumper/sweater so that I could hitch my dress up and look cool for the boys at the bus stop.
Then for Years 11 and 12 I changed schools.  The uniform was even worse.  Check out the pic above.  I was forced to wear a kilt that came down halfway between my knee and my ankle.  I also had to wear stockings ALL. YEAR. ROUND.  I gave in at that point and found other ways to rebel.
