Happy New Year!

I hate New Years Eve. There’s all this pressure to have an amazing night and wear an amazing outfit all while freezing your ass off and trying to make your way on public transport because finding an available taxi is impossible.

I had a wee hangover from a ridiculously fun night out the night before NYE so I didn’t want to go out at all. But I rallied and agreed to an early dinner with friends followed by an early night back at home watching the ball drop from the comfort and warmth of our couch.

But then dinner was so much fun. So many laughs. So many funny stories.

And I was easily convinced to go for a quick drink at another bar. Which turned into a few drinks. Which turned into celebrating midnight in some random bar in Soho.

Shortly after midnight it was time to head home.

But once we got home, we poured ourselves a couple of glasses of champagne and headed upstairs to our neighbors’ party which was still in major swing.

Once there, we chatted with our friends and neighbors, I got dragged into another nieghbor’s apartment for decorating advice (we live in a Melrose Place style building where everyone knows everyone), and we made new friends.

I’m not gonna lie. I have no idea what time we ultimately made it home.

All in all an exceptionally fun night.

Here’s to not having a plan and letting the good times roll.

Happy 2012 blog-friends!
