Last Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Amy of SassNStyle. She held a style seminar giving us a whole bunch of tips for putting together stylish outfits. Amy is a big proponent of shopping your closet (as am I) and she explained how we so often stare into our closet with blinkers on and think to ourselves, I have nothing to wear. She said to stop being so definitive about our clothes. For example, do you have a pair of pants that you only wear for work? Think about how you can perhaps style them differently to wear on weekends.
At one point, Amy talked about how great pencil skirts are. I caught myself thinking, oh I have a pencil skirt but it’s only for work. WAIT! That’s what she’s talking about - don’t pigeon hole my clothes. So I’m really trying to think differently when I look into my closet these days and so far it seems to be working.
