My name can be shortened to so many different nicknames.  There are a number of people who only ever call me Georgie as I went through a phase in my life when I insisted on only ever being introduced to people as Georgie.  I got sick of that name so when I moved to England I insisted on people calling me George for short instead.  

For whatever reason I haven’t really insisted on people shortening my name since moving to New York.  So much so that this conversation took place last night:

Berry to John: Did you see that email George sent today?

Me: Who’s George?

Berry: YOU!

For future reference friends, please call me George :-)

Update: For the people who have always called me Georgie - please don’t stop!!  It makes me smile to know we have known each other for that long!
