From a friend of mine who is not American
Redacted: Funny story from last night
Redacted: A girls sees the time on my iphone is 22.00
Redacted: She says to me oh my god, you keep your phone on military time
Redacted: So I said ‘or as its known everywhere else in the world “time”
Redacted: No one got it
I get it!! Berry and I had a ‘military’ time incident at Circuit City when we first moved here. We drove out to Brooklyn to pick up a TV and because we had to wait more than a certain amount of time (proven by the time on your receipt) we demanded we get our free something-or-other per their advertisement. The store manager argued that it had not been the full 2 hours and it became clear that he could not understand the ‘military’ time on the receipt and was miscalculating our wait. On top of that, when Berry provided her passport, her PASSPORT, for identification purposes the cashier asked if she had something more official. More official than a passport?
I also keep my blackberry and all my computers on military time.
