OK, but first let me just tell you about meeting Padma Lakshmi. Charlotte and I were invited to attend the Baby Loves Disco event courtesy of Huggies and their new line of Little Movers Slip-On Diapers. You guys, Padma is gorgeous. I mean, superhumanly gorgeous. After chatting with her for a few minutes I realized she’s also intelligent, warm and funny. How do some people get all the good qualities?! I had to stop myself from grabbing her arm and shouting Padma, please will you be my best friend?
I specifically asked her what she feeds her daughter who is almost exactly the same age as Charlotte. She said that she’s never given her daughter anything pre-packaged other than yogurt, that she makes everything from scratch, etc etc. I nodded along all while Charlotte was sitting in my lap with a bunch of cheerios in one hand and a packaged fruit snack in the other. Oh, and then Charlotte nearly choked on the lid of the fruit snack. Best mother of the year award goes to…..not me.

My Chickadee recently sent me one of their hand-made diaper clutches. Before it arrived I was like, um, what is a diaper clutch? Well, it’s a compact bag that fits everything you could possibly need for an outing, including a built-in changing pad. Sounded too good to be true.
There are two interior pockets - the first pocket can hold six diapers and an extra outfit and the second pocket will hold a standard hard plastic wipes case. When I packed mine, I only took two diapers and so had plenty of room for a few toys as well.
It folds out into a changing pad, made with the softest material.
Verdict: I love it! I have always tried to travel lightly and all that went out the window upon Charlotte’s arrival. I bought my enormous diaper bag and would fill it to capacity with all the stuff that I ‘need’. The Chickadee Diaper Clutch really makes me think twice about what I need to bring and yet I still manage to fit everything. The design is so pretty and the best part, it’s light! I can actually hang it on the back of my Maclaren without it tipping over.
