Sunday was for….

Giving the dog a bath.

When it snows in New York City it is absolutely beautiful….for about 24 hours.  And then the snow gets dirty.  Oh, and the rubbish doesn’t get collected for weeks.  It’s all sorts of disgusting on the sidewalk at the moment.

Which makes for a very dirty dog.

I can’t wait for the warmer weather so Winston can get a puppy cut again.

Family Photo - Christmas Day

I wanted to get a nice family photo on Christmas Day.  Not too much to ask, right?  Well, have you ever tried doing that with a dog and a baby?

First, the baby closed her eyes.

Then she started laughing at the dog.

Then the dog looked away.

Then the baby looked away.

Then they both looked away.

And then I gave up and just took photos of Charlotte.

Ottawa, Canada

It is virtually impossible to get Charlotte to laugh.  We discovered that she is quite enamored by Winston and it turns out he is the only one who can coax a giggle out of her.

Winston went bananas over the bubbles which in turn sent Charlotte into fits of laughter.  And me?  I was laughing at both of them.

(And herein lies the reason why I am having a very hard time going back to work tomorrow.  I’d much rather be at home with these two).

Winston absolutely loves swimming.  We would often be sitting around having a drink or eating some food and we would hear a big splash - there goes Winston again.  Having a swim by himself.

Oh, and the wonder dog actually learned very quickly how to use the ladder to climb out of the pool.  My dog can climb a freaking ladder.

(Video from our last week in France).

I’m loving France.  The other day I went “dans la mer” (that’s the sea for you non-French), then I went immediately “dans la terre” (rolled around in the dirt).  Then Mommy and Daddy sent me back into “la mer” but no luck removing “la terre” from “la fur”.

Charlotte

Charlotte not only sees Winston now (she used to pointedly ignore him - it was weird) but actively smiles at him, grabs onto his fur and kicks her legs at him.  After months of trying to get her attention, Winston excitedly reciprocates by attempting to lick her face!

Today we went into a French children’s clothing shop filled to the brim with the nicest clothes I have ever seen.  John and I went madly through the sale rack and came away with 4 new outfits for her!  I have yet to do my research but I think the clothes *might* be available in the USA.  Fingers crossed!  The orange top and jeans are one of the new outfits.  Of course I changed her straight into the new clothes as soon as we got home.
